Now we all know the footballers get paid a lot of money, and that they spend a lot of money too, so here is what some of those stars have in their garages -
Tim Cahill: The soccer star who has to take the blue ribbon for the most outrageous car is our very own Tim Cahill. Mr Cahill went all out when choosing his super car. The biggest, baddest, and fastest one of them all, Bugatti’s Veyron. The 16-cylinder quad turbocharged beast retails at over 1.2 million Euro, over $1.75 Million in Australian Dollars. And can exceed over 400km/h, just the thing when you are running late to training.
David Beckham: He might not be actually playing at the 2010 World Cup, but deserves a mention nonetheless. In LA his wheels were a convertible 911 Turbo, and a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead coupe, also roofless. Both cars were black on black, making them easily recognisable.
Ashley Cole: Mr Cole has several exotic cars to play with, but his usual choice is a Mercedes SL63, which was custom painted in a matte black finish making it look especially ominous. He has also recently taken delivery of a Bentley Continental GT, which apparently will also receive the costly matte black treatment.
Ronaldinho: Brazil’s poster boy and general crowd favourite has a decent collection of rides, his daily drive is the truck-like Audi Q7 with an Audi R8 sports car being the weekender. Like many international soccer superstars, Ronaldinho owns properties around the world. In his home country of Brazil, the uber-wealthy spend more of their riches on Helicopters rather than exotic supercars, mainly to avoid the painful city traffic.
Cristiano Ronaldo: The Portuguese superstar had several impressive rides when he was playing for Manchester United, and since Audi sponsored his team, an Audi R8 was in order. Now that he has moved to Spain his fleet of cars has changed, however a Ferrari 599 was definitely in the stable. We know this because he crashed it in a UK tunnel. Other cars sold in his move included a Bentley Continental GT Speed, Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Tiptronic S and Mercedes C220CDI.
