Supposedly Lamborghini have appointed their first Australian ambassador – cricketing legend Shane Warne, who has picked up a Lamborghini Murcielago as a long-term loan car.
This is not Warnie’s first Lambo, however. The ‘King of Spin’ already has a Gallardo Superleggera in a collection that includes a pair of Mercedes four-wheel-drives, a Ferrari 360, two BMWs and a Holden VK Commodore.
Speaking with The Times of London some time ago during one of his country cricket seasons, Warne said that if he hadn’t made it in cricket, he would have pursued car racing.
Following other reports about possible involvement with Top Gear, however hearing nothing further, the deal with Lamborghini is a definite step up from spruiking solutions for hair loss.
Other ambassadors have included Nicolas Cage, David Beckham and Frank Sinatra, who famously said: ‘If you want to be someone, you buy a Ferrari. If you are someone, you own a Lamborghini.’
